Where your site is kept.
You may already be aware what hosting actually refers to, or you may be a little confused. To put it in its simplest terms, “hosting” refers to where the files that make up your website are kept.
Hosting is also often referred to as “web-space”, but essentially there is little difference between the two terms. In fact these are just two of the terms used by different companies for part of or the entire package they supply to store and serve your website.
If you have any questions at all about web hosting and web space we’d be only too happy to answer them, rather than causing too much confusion by filling this page full of jargon.
If you would like us to store your website for you, and in turn make it available to anyone who wants to look at it from the internet, then this means you would like us to “host” it for you. Depending on the size of your site and the number of visitors you receive, we can host your site for as little as £1 per month.
We have different packages for different needs, but what we don’t do is what some web-hosting companies do and give you a shock in return for your site getting popular overnight. Some companies take your site down as soon as it goes over its limit for the month. Other companies let your site rack up a huge bill thanks to it going over its limits. We accept that one-off surges are inevitable, and we like to help you to stay popular. With this in mind we always discuss the options with you before we take any action so that we are all happy to continue working together.
Please contact us if you would like us to help you get your internet site onto the web, and we'll be only too happy to help - and we'll explain any jargon you are unsure of.
